Rumor: Nikon Mirrorless

April Advertising

Hogan is reporting (see Jan 20th entry) that he's heard from two different and unconnected sources about advertising plans by Nikon for a new camera. These ad's will run in April in both newspapers and magazines. He also states, that based on the wording, that this has to be Nikon's mirrorless camera.

Pro Mirrorless in April

According to MirrorlessRumors.com (see source link below), Nikon will be launching a Pro Mirrorless system in April (so as not to cannibalize their popular entry level cameras, at least according to their source), based on a tweaked Sony sensor (either 16mp or 24mp). They claim their sources are "veeeeeery good" (with six 'e's, which always adds to credibility!).

SonyAlphaRumors also picked this up (looks like the two sites have the same owner though), and rated it SR4, which is one of their very highest credibility ratings.

Just doesn't smell right...
