CanonRumors has received an anonymous email about a new 24mm Tilt/Shift lens:
"A collegue has been testing a new tilt-shift lens from Canon….. It’s 24mm and a bit faster than the current lens offered by Canon
The results have been a big improvement over the current model.
I have no idea when this lens could or would be released"
Tilt/Shift lenses have traditionally been a small niche, however with pixel densities increasing and diffraction issues hitting at lower and lower apertures (like on the Canon EOS 50D), T/S Lenses start becoming a lot more useful to control the in-focus areas in the frame. Also note that Nikon released new T/S lenses in 2008. Source: CanonRumors on 1/30/2009. To see the current voting/comments on this rumor, and to add your comment, click here. |
