In an effort to assist our readers in getting good advice and making the right purchasing decisions, we are in the process of building an extensive Rating Center, covering everything from equipment (Camera, Lenses and Accessories) to Reviewers and Resellers, to help make sure our readers are getting the best advice possible.
If you have an opinion on a piece of equipment, retailer, review or anything else related to Photography, please vote and leave a review. If you don't see what you are looking for, please email us at reviews@dentonimages.com and we'll see if we can add it to this page.
Our goal is to make this site as useful as possible by pointing people in the right direction, based on a combination of our reviews and extensive user reviews.
There are different approaches to marketing. Sex sells, as does celebrity. However the appeal and effectiveness of advertising can vary greatly as witnessed by Nikons marketing efforts.
In the first campaign, Nikon acknowledged the largest demographic of buyers of consumer electronics are adult males under the age of 45. So for their advertising campaign, they selected the controversial Kate Moss, swapped her clothes for a Nikon, and ran a series of ads along the lines of "I'm a supermodel. I'm naked. I'm here. Here's a Nikon.", and left the rest to your imagination.
When this campaign came to an end, Nikon searched high and low for a different celebrity that could represent the values of their brand to their key demographic. They somehow settled on Ashton Kutcher, reasons why will be left to your imagination.
Visit this page to cast your votes on several pictures and a video from each campaign. Please rate them from 5 stars (for "I like it, please show me more") down to 1 star (for "If I see another one of these adverts I'm selling my Nikon gear and switching to Canon")

11/25/2008 - New Retailer Rating Section: A new section has been added to rate and review retailers of photographic equipment.
Detailed site information is also provided, including the Alexa ranking (how much traffic the site gets) and the Reseller Rating (customer feedback).
Most of out gear comes from either B&H Photo or Amazon, we spend many thousands of dollars at each every year. Amazon is the leading online retailer, however if we have a question about a certain product, it's virtually impossible to find a phone number for Amazon, and if we do get hold of someone, they are not experts on photography gear. However B&H are. This is why we set up this section, places like Reseller Rating are great resources for general feedback, but they can be too general as in the example above - we've started this section specifically to gather opinions and feedback as to how well the retailers do with regard to sales and support for photographic equipment only, an area where a deep expertise is sometimes needed.
Please add your vote and review to help make this section more useful and accurate. Read More about New Retailer Rating Section
